Intro to Boxing

Get ready to work your whole body and mind! Watkins Boxing will lead you through rounds of different punches and combos along with focusing on the proper fundamentals and techniques. Learn the basics of boxing while improving your cardio, muscle strength, reflexes and frame of mind. This class has a maximum of 15 participants.

Tennis Fundamentals

If you are looking to start a new sport, hobby, or just looking for an innovative way to exercise, tennis might just be the activity for you. Learn the fundamentals of this life-time sport in a fun environment! This co-ed program will provide the basic knowledge of the sport that can help sharpen your game. Build upon foundational skills while testing your endurance, challenging your reaction time and reaching new limits. Bring your own equipment if possible, limited equipment will be provided. This program has a 15 person maximum.

Art- Beginning Photography

Have you ever wanted to take the million dollar photo or the picture that captures the moment perfectly? Well, this program might be for you. No experience is required. Both professional cameras and phone cameras are permitted. This program, led by Brandon Hirt, will teach participants how to use their own cameras to take interesting and focused images. Attention to the specific camera settings and more importantly, how they function, as well as how to compose an image and how to use lighting will be covered within the program. The last class will highlight photography opportunities outside of the gallery. This class has a maximum of 10 participants.

Art- Drawing Basics

Do you find yourself doodling any chance you get? What if I told you that we were offering a class that would help expand your abilities? This very class, led by Leslie Swentosky, will enhance your basic drawing skills all the way down to the pencils that you use and when you use them. Attention will also be placed on proper shading technique and how to observe and capture an object. This class has a maximum of 10 participants. No experience needed.

Materials needed for the class: Faber Castell drawing pencil set H to 6B, pink pearl eraser, kneaded eraser and handle held pencil sharpener. (Brand name supplies are only suggestions; generic items are also acceptable.)

Art- Learn to Weave

Have you ever wanted to try weaving on a loom? Well you can do just that when you sit down to a four-harness loom in the workshop at the Artists Hand Gallery, located right in downtown Indiana. There will be one, 5-hour class, offered in September, one 5-hour class offered in November and one 5-hour class offered in December. When you register for one of the 3 dates (Sept 16 OR Nov 18 OR Dec 16), you are only registering for ONE CLASS. If you would like to attend more than one class, you must complete the registration and pay the additional fee to participate in the class multiple times. Within the 5-hour class period, a participant will be able to complete a small dish towel or table mat in colors of their choosing. Each class has a 3 person limit due to available equipment and will still run with 1 person.
