Our Select Skills – Level 2 program is the next step after successfully completing Select Skills – Level 1. Building on the foundational skills mastered in our earlier programs, players will refine advanced techniques in puck control, shooting, skating, and more. This program is designed to help players elevate their overall hockey performance, giving them the tools they need on their way to becoming an Elite hockey player.

Skills
Grading Criteria

Each session is 8 weeks long and held every Tuesday from 7:40 PM - 8:40 PM.

A completed registration form and payment are required to hold your spot.

Registrations are NOT accepted after the second class of a session.

Skating — Backward quick starts, edge control (both feet), coming out of turns with speed.

Puck Control — Puck handling with speed, while using mohawks, under handling/over handling concept. 

Passing & Receiving — Bank passes, saucer passes, receiving in skates. 

Shooting — Intro to slapshot, fake shots, shooting for deflection, shooting with lift. 

Contact — Angling, body positioning, net front, intro to body checking. 

Each week, participants will practice and develop the following skills, which will be evaluated on a 100-point scale, with 75% required to move on to Elite Skills:

Skating — Backward one foot stop, one foot landings, outside edge stops, speed out of turn.

Puck Control — Backward puck control, toe drag, puck handling control at full speed.

Passing & Receiving — Backhand receiving, bank passes, saucer passes.

Shooting — Backhand, snapshot, lift shot (backhand), shooting for deflection.

Contact — Poke check, angling.

Closed For The Season

S&T Bank Arena is a seasonal facility, the Ice Rink and all Ice Programs will be suspended from April – August. Our office hours during the summer season is Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM, feel free to reach out with any questions.
