Coaching Policy Agreement Effective August 1st, 2019

The following terms of Agreement must be met in order to be considered a Staff or Guest Coach at the S&T Bank Arena.

Terms of Agreement
  1. All coaches (Staff or Guest) must be a member of the ISI or USFS organizations and produce a copy of their membership upon arrival at the White Township Recreation Facility and all coaches need a current Safe Sprot Certification.
  2. All coaches (Staff or Guest) must possess his or her own Liability Insurance through the ISI, USFS, or the PSA
  3. All coaches (Staff and Guest) must possess and supply a clean Criminal and Child Abuse history, and up-to-date Fingerprint Documentation to White Township Rec.
  4. All Staff Coaches must participate in coaching Learn to Skate to be able to coach private lessons.
  5. If the Staff Coach is routinely unable to fulfill his or her Staff Coach duties, they will no longer be permitted to coach Learn to Skate or private lessons
  6. If you are a Guest Coach assisting with the Learn to Skate Program, please refrain from wearing other skating club's apparel. Please wear a plain black jacket to coach.
  7. If you are a Staff Coach, Volunteer Coach, or Learn to Skate Helper and a coaching/skating jacket was assigned to you, please routinely wear the jacket for the Learn to Skate classes. If you are recognized by IUP, please wear IUP issued coaching/player apparel.
  8. As a Staff Coach, you must attend First, Second, Second-to-Last, and Last Day of any Learn to Skate or Intro to Figure Skating classes
  9. If you are unable to teach your assigned LTS class, please attempt to notify the Skating Director, at least 48 hours in advance
  10. Solicitation of another instructor's students will NOT be tolerated, and the violator will be asked to leave the premises.
  11. Solicitation of Learn to Skate students to attend additional Learn to Skate classes at a neighboring rink during one of S&T Bank Arena's LTS sessions will not be tolerated.
  12. Permission must be granted by the Skating Director for a Guest Coach to seek additional students at S&T Bank Arena. **Staff coaches of the arena will have first consideration when the Skating Director is approached by a new skater for lessons.
  13. All coaches are responsible for their skaters; i.e. - Every skater must sign-in and pay the appropriate fee before taking the ice. (If you are a visiting coach, please request a receipt for your student's ice time and provide this to the to the Skating Director as proof of payment.)
  14. Professionalism must be upheld by both skater and coach at all times when on the grounds of the S&T Bank Arena / White Township Recreation Complex
  15. Coaches must sign their name at the bottom of the Skater Sign-In Book located at the front desk in order to signify that they were in attendance on a freestyle session.
  16. White Township Management can remove any coach at their discretion to maintain a healthy work and recreational environment for daily operations at the facility.
*Staff Coach - Anyone who actively participates in Learn to Skate, is an employee or independent contractor of White Township Rec or IUP
*Guest Coach - Anyone who is NOT and employee or independent contractor of White Township Rec or IUP and does NOT actively participate in Learn to Skate White Township Recreation 497 East Pike Road Indiana PA 15701 724-465-2665
