White Township Recreation has partnered with The Artists Hand Gallery and Create & Curate in Indiana, PA, to offer a variety of Art programs throughout the year. These programs include a diverse selection of classes such as photography, drawing, weaving, painting, and more, aimed at nurturing creativity and passion in artists of all ages. With the tools and guidance provided, participants have the opportunity to explore a wide range of artistic mediums and techniques, encouraging them to discover their artistic potential and express their unique vision.

Exploring Color: Drawing with Pastels

Explore a variety of subjects using pastels, from color mixing to application and more with local artist Jolene Joyner. While prior drawing experience is not mandatory, it is beneficial. Ideal participants will have completed a beginner drawing class, be familiar with basic drawing tools, and have an understanding of perspective.

Learn to Weave

Explore the art of loom weaving with a hands-on, 5-hour workshop where participants will have the perfect opportunity to explore the techniques and skills required to create your own dish towel or table mat on a four-harness loom. Choose your favorite colors and learn the basics of weaving in an inviting, creative setting.

Please note: This one-day program is offered on two separate dates— August 3rd and August 17th. Registration and payment is required for each session you wish to attend.

Watercolor Floral Painting

Revel in a serene afternoon learning how to paint various flowers using water colors. Participants can take a guided approach by using a provided stencil or can let their artistic expression flow by painting their own images from flowers on the tables.
