Intro to Field Hockey

Intro to Field Hockey is a fun, welcoming skills clinic designed specifically for families who may be brand new to the sport. Led by the Head Coach of IUP Field Hockey, a former Division I athlete at Ohio State, and supported by current IUP players and staff, this program gives young athletes an exciting, easy-to-understand introduction to the basics of field hockey. No experience is needed at all. The program beings with the true fundamentals: how to hold the stick, control the ball, move with it safely, and work together in simple small-sided games. Each session focuses on building coordination, confidence, teamwork, and a love for trying something new. Participants will also learn from outstanding college role models who bring great energy and make the sport fun and approachable. All equipment (sticks and balls) will be provided.
